Starry Night

A reinterpretation of Van Gogh's The Starry Night painted on the glass porthole of a salvaged washing-machine door, kept in its original rounded brushed-steel frame. Behind the glass, a backlighting system passes through the painted layer and lights the blue impasto and the yellow haloed stars from within. Van Ugly series, 2018.

Swirling blue night sky dotted with yellow-ringed stars, a black cypress rising in front of a village with an ochre steeple, painted on curved glass set in a brushed steel frame with rounded corners, standing on a pale wood plank against a light wall
