ÜGLY
Pale wood sculpture on a dark table, a nude female figure seen in profile with the torso raised and the limbs stretched to the left, long grooved hair down the back and one foot resting on a pale oval disc, against a dark panel covered in spattered colour, work by Robert Bibeau

La Sirène

A nude female figure carved in pale wood, sanded smooth. The torso lifts above limbs drawn out far past any human span, held almost flat. Long parallel grooves carry the hair down the back. The eyes are closed and the mouth faintly smiles. At the hip a patch of brown wood is left rough and split.

Close view of the pale wood face and torso, eyes closed and mouth incised, hair carved in long locks, the arms stretched along the dark table with one hand open flat, a rough barked block behind the shoulder, potted plants and a pale wall behind.
