Walking green figure with a flame-shaped head, mounted on a black base with a lamp post topped by a glass insulator, work by Robert Bibeau

Untitled

A vertical form carved from wood, rising in a flame-like curl. Midway, a face surfaces: an open eye, a mouth bristling with nails driven into the wood. The verdigris and gold polychromy, sealed under a thick varnish, gives the material a wet sheen. The piece stands on a dark plinth.

Vertical carved-wood sculpture with verdigris and gold polychromy, front view: an emergent face with hollowed eyes and a fan-shaped pale mouth, a figure standing on its legs.
Close view of the glossy green wooden face, one eye half shut under a heavy brow, two small black beads standing out below the nose and, lower down, a dark hollow bristling with pale nails, against a pale wall
The upright sculpture against a pale wall, a glossy dark green form splitting into two legs with its tip running out of frame, aloe leaves crossing the foreground and the turquoise glass insulator on its metal rod at right
